Equipping Kisenyi Neonatal Unit

Project

Overview:
In the bustling heart of Kampala lies the Kisenyi Health Centre IV, serving over 10,000 maternal deliveries annually. However, the facility struggles with limited resources for neonatal care, leaving vulnerable lives at risk. This project equips the Neonatal Unit with essential tools like ventilators, incubators, and radiant warmers while training healthcare staff in advanced neonatal care.

Goals:

  1. Reduce neonatal mortality rates.
  2. Enhance healthcare professionals’ capacity to deliver effective neonatal care.
  3. Raise awareness on maternal and child health in the community.

Progress So Far:

  • Donated critical equipment, including six incubators and neonatal ventilators.
  • Trained 30 healthcare workers in neonatal emergency care.
  • Conducted outreach programs educating over 1,000 mothers.

Future Plans:

  • Expand training to include maternal health.
  • Advocate for government support in scaling neonatal care programs.
